Learning Styles

What is your child's learning style? Do you know?

If you can't answer that question, don't panic. It does not make you a bad parent. This is not always an easy one to answer.

Learning styles are different ways of learning. If you can understand how your child learns then you can match a curriculum to it that will unlock doors of knowledge for him or her.

There are three main styles

Visual learners need to see the information that are supposed to be taking in. Pictures, illustrations, videos, charts and other visual displays can help a visual learner to retain information.

Auditory learners find learning easier when they can hear the lesson. Discussions, lectures, educational songs and reading aloud are good tools for dealing with an auditory learner.

Tactile or kinesthetic learners need to explore the world to understand it. They do best with hands on exercises and materials.

When you are working with your child, take note of which of the tools mentioned above work best. This will help you to find a curriculum or materials that make use of those.
